Angela D. Roach

Angela Roach is a California native who has returned to Santa Barbara to live and practice law, after living in San Francisco for a number of years.  Since her return, she has embraced a busy civil litigation practice while becoming active in the Santa Barbara community.

Ms. Roach was admitted to the California Bar in 2003 and has been practicing in California since then.  Ms. Roach attended the University of California, Santa Barbara from 1996 to 2000, where she met her now husband, Kevin Haughey.   Ms. Roach attended the University of San Francisco School of Law from 2000 to 2003.  After passing the bar exam, Ms. Roach practiced law in San Francisco at the law firm of Laughlin, Falbo, Levy & Moresi LLP.  She also served as an apprentice bar exam grader.                                        

After being recruited by a law school colleague who practiced in Santa Barbara, Ms. Roach joined Hager & Dowling PC in Santa Barbara in January 2007.  Hager & Dowling PC is a civil litigation trial and appellate law firm with sixteen attorneys based in Santa Barbara, with two other offices.  Ms. Roach handles civil litigation matters, including insurance bad faith, personal injury and employment cases.  Ms. Roach is a tough and zealous advocate for her clients and represents clients throughout California.  Even though most of Ms. Roach’s cases are venued in outside of Santa Barbara, she embraces opportunities to appear in the beautiful Santa Barbara Superior Court.  

Ms. Roach is very active in the Santa Barbara Community.  She is on the Board of Directors for the Santa Barbara Women Lawyers and Santa Barbara Women Lawyers Foundation.  She is also on the Board of the local Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, in honor of her late grandmother.  Ms. Roach also volunteers for Girls, Inc. mentoring pre-teens, and a number of other organizations in Santa Barbara including The Unity Shoppe and Garden Court.  Ms. Roach previously served on the Board of the Hager & Dowling Charitable Foundation.

Ms. Roach’s colleagues are always amazed at how much energy she has!  When not practicing law, Ms. Roach plays on multiple soccer teams, can be found hiking the Santa Barbara mountains, or training for another half marathon.  She also loves travel, and already this year has enjoyed Morroco, Spain and Portugal and is looking forward to a trip to Australia at the end of the year.
